Be Still

Simply being still in God's presence is something that we've been talking about and encouraging each other to do in the ladies' Bible study that I attend.

In a culture that is constantly moving, frantically communicating, and consistently overloading on media input, being still seems counterintuitive and certainly unproductive. Yet, being still in His presence puts all of that other stuff - that frenetic pace we feel we must maintain - into perspective. It's where that peace resides that we think we can obtain by our own means and methods - if only, if only we had more money, more time, more stuff, more influence, more...fill in the blank. Being still in His presence - that is the true longing of our hearts...and His.

  1. Good morning, dear Marcy! Just about my favorite scripture...can't tell you how many times in my life it whispers sweetly in my head. Certainly helps in these tricky times, doesn't it?!

Hope things are going well for you & that you and your family have a wonderful weekend together, my friend!

  2. Alright, this is my 3rd time trying to post a comment. Lets hope 3rd time is really a charm! Anyway, this is such a great project! We really do struggle with being still as you said, and this would be a helpful reminder. I love the connections that can be made between the ladybug and the sunflower. The bug being so small and the flower so that ladybug needs that flower in many ways, just as we need God in many ways! Thanks for sharing.
