Watermelon Fairy

This week for the Crafty Secrets challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers, we are doing a color challenge inspired by our favorite summer treats. Just think of all the dreamy color combinations that those yummy summer foods represent - chocolate-covered strawberries, gelatin salads, fresh fruits & veggies, lemonade, sweet ice cream treats like creamsicles, banana splits, and scooter crunches - yummmmm!

My card was inspired by sweet, juicy watermelon!

Details:
Stamps - Crafty Secrets - Fairyland & Mouse Party (sentiment)
Patterned Paper - K&Company - Amy Butler
Cardstock - Core'dinations (green); Gina K Designs (ivory)
Ink - Adirondack - Espresso; Ranger Distress Ink - Barn Door

Thank you for stopping by! Hope your day is sweet!

Happy Father's Day!

Yesterday I got to spend some special time with my dad. We went yard saling together for the first time in quite awhile. I love going to yard sales and flea markets with my dad, who is a retired high school teacher and an antique dealer. I always learn so much from him. One thing he taught me when it comes to antiques is to buy what you love, regardless of the "book value." That way you have things in your home that you truly like and not just expensive clutter.

Our yard saling adventure resulted in four (count 'em - four!) new-to-me Stampin' Up! sets and a whimsical, vintage handmade doll that will look wonderful with my vintage candy boxes at Christmas time and for Valentine's Day. Most of all, though, I really enjoyed my alone time with my dear dad!

Here's the card I made him:

Details:
Stamps - Stampin' Up! - Knobbly Gnomes set (image); Papertrey Ink - Mixed Messages (Enjoy the Moment) & Pond Life (happy Father's day)
Patterned Paper - DCWV - Natural Mat Stack (plaid); K&Company (paisley)
Cardstock - Core'dinations - Chocolate Box (brown); Gina K Designs - Pure Luxury Cardstock (ivory)
Ink - Ranger - Adirondack - Espresso
Markers - Copic Sketch
Border Punch - Martha Stewart

Thanks for stopping by today!

Marcy

Bunny TV

Scooter's exercise pen arrived the other day, and now he can play in the yard (supervised, of course) when the weather is nice and not too hot.

He definitely has a special affinity for Shannon, "the bunny whisperer."

Taking a peek at the great wide world beyond.

Shannon made this house for him out of Aldi's boxes.

I have a feeling we're going to be watching the Scooter channel a lot this summer. :)

(In case you're interested, this is the Rabbit Run Around by Precision Pet.)

Embellishing

Remember that weekend scrapping retreat I went to awhile back? I'm still pulling out the layouts I made that weekend and finishing them off with embellishments and journaling. It's so relaxing to me to pop into the craft room, maybe put a good movie on, and just play around with these almost-finished layouts. Here's one of the pages I completed last weekend:

Details:
Patterned paper - DCWV - Green Stack
Chipboard elements - DCWV - Green Stack
Cardstock - Coredinations (orange); Gina K Designs (ivory); unknown - rust
Accessories - fine tip marker - Sharpie; brads - Making Memories

Hope you have a great weekend in store!

Hugs,
Marcy
