Enjoy the Moment

Hello all! I hope you are starting to enjoy some of the sweet moments that come with the summer season.

Right now we're getting ready for VBS at our church, and that is exhausting but exciting too. Ronan, in particular, has been talking about it for months. We finished decorated the church yesterday, and I just have to make a run to the craft store and trace some patterns, and we should be all set.

Here is a card I made as a thank you for Shannon's school administrator. He is a wonderful person and does an amazing job leading the staff in providing a Christian education for the students. I am consistently in wonder at the things these kiddos are able to learn & accomplish, and more than that, the love they demonstrate for God and each other is a powerful example of how Christ's church can be.

Details:
Stamp - Inky Antics
Patterned Paper - K&Company - Rough & Tumble
Cardstock - Martha Stewart (green); Gina K Designs (white); Bazzill (yellow)
Ink - Ranger Distress Ink - Vintage Photo
Accessories - markers - Copic Sketch; ribbon - Michaels

Hope you get to enjoy a special moment or two today!

Make New Friends, But Keep the Old...

one is silver and the other gold. This song from my days in Girl Scouts has been running through my head this week as I've been working on various projects for friends.

Appropriately, this week's Crafty Secrets challenge at Splitcoast Stampers, hosted by Darlene, centers around the theme of Friendship. I created the door hanger below using the Best Buds Postcard Kit from Crafty Secrets.

The little stamp set included in the kit is so adorable and worth the price of admission alone!

Details:
Main Image & Star Accent: Crafty Secrets - Best Buds Postcard Kit
Ink: Ranger Distress Ink - Tea Dye
Accessories: bird sticker - Crafty Secrets - Family Matters sticker set; ribbon - The Little Pink Studio; glitter glue - Stickles; eyelets - Making Memories

Here is a card I made with some new Crafty Secrets products!

Main Image: Crafty Secrets - Sew Nice Creative Scraps
Stamps: Crafty Secrets - Material Girl
Patterned Paper: K&Company - Life's Journey
Ink: Ranger Distress Ink - Vintage Photo
Accessories: lace doily rub ons - Hambly Studio; seam tape ribbon - Rebecca Sower Designs; border punch - Martha Stewart; vintage buttons; embroidery floss - DMC

I made this card for our next-door neighbor's birthday. We share a fence line between our properties, and our families are always visiting over the backyard fence. So I thought it would be fun to make a card with my family peeking over a fence to wish her a happy birthday. :)

Details:
Stamps - Stampin' Up! - All in the Family; Fence - Oriental Trading
Ink - Ranger Distress Ink - Vintage Photo
Cardstock - Gina K. Designs (white); Martha Stewart (green)
Accessories - markers - Copic Sketch & Sharpie; colored pencils - Prismacolors

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful day, my friends!

Summer Reading

What a crazy week it's been! End-of-the-school year activities and parties for Shannon all week, plus a really busy week at work, have kept us all busy. I made a bunch of thank you cards for various tours and activities that Shannon's Daisy troop participated in recently, but I didn't get any pictures taken of them. It was one of those situations when we were practically crafting as we went out the door to a meeting or party.

The card to the right is for Shannon's teacher. This week on the Crafty Secrets' forum, Lori challenged us to use text on our project. This dear little sheep from CS's Booklovers set has started her summer reading list already.

The text background is a segment of Wind in the Willows from October Afternoon's Night Light collection. I cut the scalloped circle using a Nestabilities die in my Big Shot machine. I colored all of the images with Copic markers, and popped up the sheep with foam dimensionals.

Here's to a wonderfully relaxing summer vacation full of fun creative pursuits!
